Hello! I am Sara Heumann. I provide birth doula support and placenta encapsulation services. I am very excited for you as you embark on your birth journey and realize you have many choices to explore. I absolutely LOVE being support to the pregnant woman, their partners, and family members as we navigate and explore the decisions that are right for you and your child during pregnancy, birth and beyond. I value the relationship of trust and mutual respect that develops over time as I spend time with clients preparing for the birth day and postpartum period.
As a birth doula, I bring my calm energy, holistic approach to nutrition, fitness and wellbeing, birth art, therapeutic background, and experience with empowered birth to the relationship. I look forward to growing our connection over time as we prepare throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
I had a very positive personal story from taking my placenta as a supplement after I gave birth to twins that I carried as a gestational surrogate. I experienced the benefits of increased energy, balanced emotional state, and plentiful milk supply. I felt so good about my experience that I was trained to offer placenta encapsulation services for women after their births.
I have been married to my husband, Micah, since 2002. Our son, Daniel, was born in 2005 with my husband and doula by my side. Our son, Asher, joined the world after a very speedy labor three years later. My goal is to be a source of strength for women and their partners by providing emotional, physical, and informational support as they discover their voice and their power.
Some of my favorite interests include yoga and fitness, nutrition, art, gardening, meditation, holistic healing and birth focused education. During my downtime, I am keeping busy with my family, friends and animals. My two kids and husband are my light and love and give me the support and encouragement to fulfill my dreams of being a doula.
“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers ~ strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.“ – Barbara Katz Rothman
“Birth is an opportunity to transcend. To rise above what we are accustomed to, reach deeper inside ourselves than we are familiar with, and to see not only what we are truly made of, but the strength we can access in and through birth.“ – Marcie Macari
